Williams & Fudge ‘Bike for the Kids’ raises $15,000 towards 272 bikes for kids in need

For many, the holiday season is a time for giving – and Thursday morning, employees at Williams & Fudge celebrated the culmination of a year’s worth of fundraising to buy 272 bikes for children in need in the York County, SC area.
Williams & Fudge held its 15th Annual Bike Race for the Kids on the campus of the Old Cotton Factory, where employees and Community Partners lined Village Way to show their support and participate in the race, competing in self-propelled heats on bikes purchased during late November, early December and throughout the year.
Williams & Fudge employees raise funds for bicycles annually that are donate to Toys for Happiness to distribute to youth in York County. This, year employees raised $15,659 to use towards the purchase of discounted bikes through Academy Sports.
“Each year, our staff come through in ways that continue to surprise my family and me, in a way that makes us incredibly proud,” said David Williams, president of Williams & Fudge, which is owned by the Williams Family. “We are very thankful for what we have and are glad that we get to give back to our community.”
This event is supported by Williams & Fudge employees and a local partners including the OTS Media Group (WRHI and Interstate 107 Radio), Academy Sports, South State Bank, Insurance Brokers, The Climer Group, Oakland Baptist Church, the Young Professionals of York County, The Echols Firm, Smith-Dray Line, Family Trust Credit Union, Canteen, Kocher Cabinets and the Rock Hill Police Department.
